@zephyr2792 , I do not agree that the Bible or religion is more "true than true" — as Jordan Peterson claims @ 4:18 …Brett Weinstein doesn’t agree with J.P. on this either — he has astutely delineated different types of 'truths' for Jordan Peterson as they pertain to beliefs — in their previously held debates. (Jordan Peterson had no cohesive rebuttal.) Here’s a brief explanation of different types of 'truths': Why religion is literally false and metaphorically true: 📺 https://youtu.be/c0_J998UD9s (4 minute video w/ Brett Weinstein) …The reality is that Jordan Peterson is not always searching for truth. Similar to most of us, Jordan Peterson is searching for ways to confirm his bias, strongly held beliefs, and dispositions. (Otherwise, it may also be important to mention that I think that Jordan Peterson is brilliant, even if he’s sometimes wrong — he’s correct on many, many other topics. I would say that of the many topics Jordan Peterson talks about, I agree with him more than I disagree.)

@WideNerdy , I disagree that Jordan Peterson changes his mind when presented with strong counter arguments… The reality is that Jordan Peterson is not always searching for truth. Similar to most of us, Jordan Peterson is searching for ways to confirm his bias, strongly held beliefs, and dispositions. For example: Brett Weinstein doesn’t agree with J.P. That the Bible or religion is more true than true. In their previous debates, Bret Weinstein has astutely delineated different types of 'truths' — as they pertain to beliefs. Jordan Peterson had no cohesive rebuttal at the debate, but here he goes again, like nothing happened, @ 4:18, claiming that the metaphorical truth is more true than the underlying reality that derived it. Here’s a very brief explanation of different types of 'truths': Why religion is literally false and metaphorically true: 📺 https://youtu.be/c0_J998UD9s (4 minute video w/ Brett Weinstein)

4:18 The Bible is literally false and metaphorically true. This has been explained to Jordan Peterson by Bret Weinstein, a while back. Metaphorical truth is not “more true” than “true.” Metaphorical truth is a distinctly different type of truth that happens to be more helpful than literal reality in many situations — but it is not more true than true — as Peterson keeps insisting.

@Julian-we6qg , thank you for sharing your thoughts. Do you think that the Bible is more "true than truth" as Jordan Peterson claims or is it simply a different type of truth (but just as useful, depending on a situation), as Bret Weinstein has previously pointed out: Why religion is literally false and metaphorically true: 📺 https://youtu.be/c0_J998UD9s (4 minute video w/ Brett Weinstein)

Why did Jordan Peterson choose the "truth" of Benzodiazepine medication to treat his depression — rather than turning to the metaphorical "truth" in the Bible to treat his depression? Perhaps he did not have enough faith that it would be as effective as Benzodiazepines? (Lack of faith would also explain why Jordan Peterson has not been baptized yet.) Religion, much like the placebo effect, can be very helpful, it is definitely better than nothing — especially when that’s all you have. But, just like the placebo effect — religious "truth" has physical and psychological limitations — as Jordan Peterson has found out when he had his bout of depression.

🤡 This guy doesn’t understand the details of how stocks work. His lack of understanding makes it easier for him to connect the ESG conspiracy dots — whether the dots are there or not.
