In Germany , the sense of defeatism along with new ideological conflict gave birth to the concept of an ideology based ethno-socialist-nationalist movement , which later removed the concept of nationalism and put the concept of ethnicity based ideology to the front. nazis used the Prussian glory and elements of Prussian nationalism to indoctrinate people into obeying them. a fact you can see when after military defeats in 1942, many Prussian conservatives and Prussian Nationalists fell out with the nazis and were eventually rooted out in a coup led by waffen ss and other loyalists in the Wehrmacht after the unsuccessful assassination of Moustache-man in the 20th July bomb plot.
something similar (But is not the Same), since Japan was in a constant state of blood - feuds since 10th century until the establishment of the Meiji empire, Japanese society has evolved the mind of their people to be honorable to the Lord of their lands , Obey their every command (at the will of the self's duty towards lord out of obligation and not brainwashed into it) , be the honorable and proper bearer of their family traditions and defend their lands at all costs, no matter what it costs . plus those times were superstitious indeed. anything which happened, like the sinking of Mongol ships in a typhoon during mongol invasion of Japan resulted in their believing that the Kamis (Gods/Blessed Divinity power) of the Lands are with the People of the land , resulted in more devotion towards the protection of their culture . plus unlike the rest of the world, which actually got breaks from many wars , the Japanese society was in constant war with itself among many daimyous , and even after a temporary unification, with the neigboring Joseon (Korean) dynasty (search for Imjin and Chongyun wars) . even after the establishment of Shogun, nobody openly accepted the shogunate as the supreme and rebellions continued in the countryside , till the arrival of western powers, the boshin wars . the sengoku period of Japan with it's constant bloodshed , military campaigns, dacoits and robbers looming everywhere, assassinations , hoodlums fighting and atrocities too gruesome to tell (coz it will hurt the emotions of some westerners and will eventually nuke my acccount) also militarily disciplined the people into tolerating pain ,into protecting and preserving one's honor by oath, into fighting back much more harder, into following their routine with much more perfection, and basically pursuing people towards perfection in their wretched lives, in order to improve it. people were already shaped as soldiers by the end of 19th century. and the empire kept it constant warfare , with the Koreans , with the Chinese , with the Russians , with the Germans , with the Chinese again, and lastly with everyone which proved more bite than chewing . what Japanese actually lost in the colonialist period is their courtesy of treating others , which was fueled by their status as an empire , something they accuse the Europeans of (correctly) yet don't mind being hypocrites themselves.
you see Germany and Japan had some similarities but they were never the same. for Germans actually resisted and died fighting against Nazism, however no Japanese thought of doing the same. not because they were supposedly "indoctrinated", but because they put themselves in front , to protect their emperor, they were obedient ,as dogs to their masters , to the emperor , and only did when the Emperor told them to (there were many rabies infected too, that's why America nuked them twice ) . You go today to Japan , and you will still get killed by this rabies of neo imperialism if you are caught badmouthing the emperor and any war-criminal who was treated with respect. this is the reason why i am always opposed to historical revisionism and what it can do. Germany for good , never underwent that part and people and Govt are even apologetic for the crimes even Germany committed during ww1 and as a colonial power in it's colonies. there is a reason why Israel and Germany are best of the best in terms of interests and mutual cooperation, but US will face problem because South Korea and Japan are still bitter enemies (by their societies ) of each other, because both (especially Japanese society) have refused to reconcile each other .

For your Kind Information, Oudh was an anglicized way to speak up Awadh , which was a breakaway riyasat from Mughal empire in the 18th century and actually lies in your "Map" 's Hindi /Hindustani Region , and it covers a large part of Today's Indian State of Uttar Pradesh.
On the contrary , The Modern Indian state of Odisha for a large part has remained homogeneous , and also has it's own share of great history on Kingdoms , Empires , Cultures , Foods, Traditions , Cothings and Attires , Literatures etc and has been a proud part and contribute of Indian Sanatana civilization. It's ancient names were lesser known as Udra and Toshali and more famously by two words , Utkala and Kalinga. Also a lesser known name it has inherited was the Gajapati empire .The Word Kalinga is itself famous beyond the state's border . Ashoka's famous war of attrition against the Coastal Janapada of Toshali on the banks of River Daya forced the Emperor to shun war forever ( contrary to myths of him converting to Buddhism after this war is false, as he waged this after long after he adhered to the steps of Buddhism ) . The Andhra city of Kalingapatnam bears the name of Kalinga as it has been historically a part of Kalinga kingdom and the Gajapati empire.
