It depends on which unit or politically /ethically unit affiliation and age you are captured in. regardless of all, no , if you are a Jew , you are going to die , unless and until you are moustache man's favorite ( one of his favorite companion was a young Jewish kid (girl) who was spared and she died in 1943, of natural causes. there were many Jews who actually were ww1 german veterans and were willing to fight for germany again, Jewish veterans fighting even for a man who was the peak of anti semitism . yet what they got was expulsion or extermination . wehrmacht also committed crimes ,albeit less than other branches. their crimes were the highest on the eastern front. for ss, no ss battalions was there who have records of minor crimes like civilian abuse. all were major to extreme.

  17. japanese "prisoners" were shot because they faked their surrender and will kill you in sneaky suicide bombs. i remember a Gorkha company whose British CO was killed in Burma in such manner, the Gorkhas made sure no Japanese was going to be left alive afterwords. and they killed them very slowly and painfully because in British Indian army , you respect your senior officers especially your CO as your father-like figure.

Ustashe....pope helped them flee to Argentina, Spanish agency collaborated with Croatian ustashe to assassinate Tito multiple times, and in Yugoslav wars they got away with the genocide of Krajina Serbs. no NATO brought them to justice. and fun fact is that Tito himself was a Croat , but he went every length to bring ustashe to justice and execute them . and unlike mossad, he carried the mission till he died.

  27. no you don't . many were sent to stalingrad and few (but higher than western figures) were able to return back , or rather released back to fill the ranks of the new NVA / GDR .
