  1. sanctions only work on nations who doesn't have backups, like South Africa and Rhodesia. if Trump's trade war on China couldn't bring down China , what would sanctions be able to do to China , which is Russia's economic backup. the only thing Russia is actually facing is a brain drain due to authoritarian govt of Putin and lack of any sense of fundamental and political freedom at all. and also collapse in population. else sanctions did't do jackshit against Russia especially it has the market backings of China and India and soon whole Asia-Africa-Latin America market.
