A big part of India's geopolitical goal is To keep Russia & China away from each other & keep US & Russia closer to each other on Friendly terms . because doing both Favors India's economic deals & defense import supplies ( Indian military loves their American & Russian military assets ) . Also Given India's Non alignment stance since our Independence , it suits us very well to play the role of negotiator arrangement guys & find something good for ourselves as well from the deal brokering between US & Russia
