Except Karen people groups, Many EAOs are interested in a quasi federal structure where they could run each ethnically dominant regions as autonomous provinces ( Countries within a Country) or just replacing the Bamar dominated tatmadaw as the dominant ruling group like the Bamar dominated PDF . However whoever is in Power, Border troubles for both India and Bangladesh will be in all headache and I hope Both Countries will continue maintain good relations like they are now to thwart any serious opium and gun smuggling industries.

  3. Basically African Level politics is happening in Myanmar. Govt is worst because of the exploitations and mass human rights violations and resource hoarding. and if overthrown will exile themselves in any rich allied country with the resources they looted. Meanwhile Because of the shitshow , Bangladesh and India are suffering heavily due to it. Bangladesh where Rohingya refugees are becoming economic burden over the Bengalis and on top the Arakan army running gunslingers and drug business along with terrorism in Chittagong and Sylhet division. And also many groups are trying their best to push opium trades and triangles in India's North Eastern states along with gun trades to fund separatist and other terror activities .

  13. Given Ukrainian use of Slovenian M55s in Ukraine , It wouldn't surprise me a lot that Russia will be using T-55AM variants in Ukraine . But what really is bizarre is that Russia did have a program to up-gun their T-55s like installing a 125mm 2A46 . in fact Chinese , Pakistani and Bangladeshis successfully upgraded their old Type-59 to Type-59G, AL-Zarrar and Type-59 BD Durjoy.

  15. Hey Ed . Recently got some new shorts coming out of Ukraine about a Russian 120mm Towed Gun Mortar/combined Howitzer called Howitzer 2B16 Nona-K . I don't know how exactly it's supposed to fire mortar rounds but, its a towed Variant of 2S9 Nona Self propelled mortar.

Plus Chinese mining companies are actively looking for new mineral belts in the region. and also a new way to counter India's naval domination in the Indian ocean.

  28. Technically as an Indian , the situation is lot more complex. But GOI has so far , remained Neutral. The only investments we did in Burma are related to civilian infrastructures like schools ,hospitals ,hydroelectric dams , mining and agricultural equipment. plus so far we have only exported Naval weapons like Submarine and Corvettes to Myanmar which have zero use in Hinterland areas. but on Occasions Indian armed forces have teamed up with Bhutanese , Bangladeshi and Myanmar forces to conduct Joint anti insurgency operations in the region that has seen a lot of ethnic tensions against each other as well as against respective govt. So far in Our case, We are at relative peace compared to what we endured in 60s to early 2000s.

And there are many ethnicities that live both on the Indian and Myanmar side of the Indo Myanmar border like Kuki , Chin , Naga, Mizo etc . And due to war , India has seen lots of influx within these ethnic groups . Also Indo Myanmar border is among the few borders of India, where despite heavy geopolitical tensions , is rarely monitored. (Technically India and Myanmar are both friendies since 1947-1948 but the amount of narco-militant groups operating in between both nations are like in numbers of hundreds)

  32.  @user-pd9ju5dk5s  It doesn't work that way , because the Myanmar refugees are strictly forbidden to bring their guns and politics here . unfortunately they adhere to none of the agreements and people on our side have to pay the price. The recent ethnic clashes between local Meiteis and neighbor immigrant Kukis in Indian state of Manipur is one of the recent examples.
