  9. One thing that ,IMO, gonna cost the Russian invasion is the lack of any Brown water navies in the region or any brown water activity or amphibious assaults made by Russian navy during this war. Brown water navies had played a significant role in turning the tide of the war for whoever can utilise it in encircling enemy forces successfully. The most famous Brown water naval campaigns to this day is Operation Anaconda plan by Union army to encircle the Confederates and cut them off completely , both in the East coast and especially in The Mississippi river. Other Famous engagements of Brown water naval engagements are from the:- Paraguayan war , where Allied Brown water gunships managed to cut of Paraguayan defensive and logistic lines . Second Sino Japanese war, where one of the primary reasons of fast Japanese expansion was their successful campaigns across the Yangtze river . Portuguese colonial wars British conquest of Burma Indo China war US-Mexican war Ahom Mughal war Maratha Mughal war Siam Burmese wars Vietnam war Greek war of Independence Crimea war Russo Turkish war 1877. First and Second Balkan war Iran Iraq war and a lot more . what even Surprises me the most that Russian empire was a pioneer of Brown water naval concept itself which it has utilised with success against the Ottomans , especially in Greek war of Independence and in 1877 campaign. and rivers in Ukraine especially in the South near Kherson , provides a very ideal ground for developing a Brown water navy. Russian carelessness and their lack of initiative ( just like in Soviet model , taking initiatives in ground zero is often disregarded in favor of commands made from HQ level) , is gonna cost them far more than Ukrainian counteroffensives.
