I HATE HR PEOPLE ... most of them are stoopid especially women working in technical industries I refuse to be interviewed by some young girl I had one young HR GUY pull up and sat down, they he asked me, "Well, what have you been doing in your life ? " He had one of my 3 page resumes in his hand and I was insulted by his stupidity I gave him a ration of shit and walked out, calling him a stoopid MFER HE FAILED MY INTERVIEW ! HEARD later that the company was a HORRIBLE place to work, they worked people like slaves and disrespected them. Guess my intuiting was RIGHT !

I was a US merchant marine officer for 35 years and worked on civilian crewed Navy ships The US Maritime Administration gave us an award certificate for hauling cargo for Iraqi Freedom II I put that on my resume and just the other day hearing anti military / war comments, I thought - I wonder if talking about that is a big negative ? Other thing, I did some electrical contract work, should I put the contracting company or the actual companies I worked for OR should I just LIST that kind of work that I did (Subway train electrician) A lot of technical job recruiters tell me my resume is amazing, it does have a lot in it - 2 pages cut down from 3 pages. I've been there, done that kind of !

  10. I am an aircraft mechanic that hasn't worked much in that industry - 8 months I miss working in that area and am thinking of going back into it. I have some rare skills The mechanic schools tell me all the time that they have many students over 65 I don't know if they are doing the class to work on their own airplanes or want to find a job Given the fact that there is a SEVERE shortage of airplane mechanics, I don't think I will have any problems finding a decent job that pays $35 an hour to start, even being over 65 Kind of like a SUPPLY AND DEMAND situation

  11. WAY TOO MANY HORRIBLE companies to work for than GOOD ones I can tell a HORRIBLE ONE when they have some 18 year old girl doing the interviews, what the hell does she know about ANYTHING ? She might say something like - " Well, what have you been doing with your life ?" When she has my 3 page resume infront of her. I just get up and leave, shows me they are a LOW QUALITY company. @disgruntledtoons
