Johnson taken to hospital after ten days - yet UK still following 7-day isolation period, whcih is 14 days elsewhere. This government is a shambles. UK needs leadership not a buffoon pantomime act who was in hospitals shaking hand with people when he may already have had the virus.

@maggieadams8600 And with a touch of virus, all these 'wealth creators' go running to the state for money. We need a real economy that values essential workers like nurses, farmers and engineers - not hedge-fund managers and 'insurance' company executives. Those of us who survive cannot allow this to go back to where it was.

@maggieadams8600 I agree. I heard Edwina Currie this morning prattling on about what a "good fellow" Johnson is, and how much she enjoyed being out walking her dogs. She wasn't asked how many people Johnson infected walking round hospitals shaking hands. Surely people are going to work this out?

Brexit - what a waste of four years when UK should have been investing in the NHS, not pandering to Farage who has gone off to the Caymans. Indeed but UK needs a real lader not a pantomime act.
2
@Spacebadger Yeah, Channel 4 is responsible for UK having highest rising COVID19 death rate outside US. Nothing to do with a buffoon delaying action, walking around hospitals shaking hands, prattling on about 'herd immunity' while his father goes on national TV saying it's good to go down the (still open) pub. All the fault of the EU and Johnny Foreigner. Don't you think that record is a little stuck?

Germany 107,000 confirmed cases (ie with testing), 2000 deaths -- UK 55,000 confirmed cases, deaths 6,150 ...and that's with the UK still not including deaths outside hospitals (in Ireland 25% of deaths are in nursing homes, and the Spanish figure is also very high). UK needs a leader, now, Johnson has failed.

@TheChecazzovuoidame Working on post-COVID19 economic planning. Any news on the post-Brexit UK trade deals?

Not everyone gets tested like Boris https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gabFmQ2glr8

@TheChecazzovuoidame UK needs a leader. Someone competent. Not the buffoon Johnson.
1
@TheChecazzovuoidame He's an incompetent buffoon whose lack of action is killing people.
1
Julie Newman What a childish comment. There is a pandemic. NHS staff are dying. The government is a shambles.

@ernststavroblofeld1961 You need to interfere in elections in rival countries and get incompetent self-serving buffoons elected. Then the virus can do its work.
1
@ernststavroblofeld1961 People need a government that protects them - not one made up of self-servers.
1
@h-dawg6462 Exactly. Who listens to experts? Johnson's dad said it was good to go down the piub, and Johnson went round shaking hands in hospitals. No need to listen to virus experts.

Anon Anon That wasn't his job as prime minister. Labour and other parties should demand a cross-party governemnt with a competent leader.
1
@Milagros81 All the more reason to listen to those with knowledge, like the WHO, rather than prattling on about herd immunity, acting the pantomime buffoon and going round hospitals shaking hands when (as it turns out) you had the virus.
1
UK needs a leader, not a pantomime act. Too many dead already.
1
UK death figures still don't include deaths outside hospitals (eg in nursing homes). Johnson's mismanagement has killed thousands already.
1
@noobadoc Johnson gained my respect nt just by working but by visting hospitals and shaking the hands of staff. Wonder how many he has infected? UK has fastest rising death rate other than the US. Take Germany 107,000 confirmed cases (ie with testing), 2000 deaths -- UK 55,000 confirmed cases, deaths 6,150.
1
M O'B ....and the UK death rate STILL does not include deaths outside hospitals (including nursing homes, which are 25% of deaths in Ireland and a huge percentage in Spain).
