  2. It's = it is. His, hers, its. Brexit , it's a mess. The EU will look after its interests, including those of Ireland.

  3. Why was it overpricing? If you have a problem with banking improve the regulation (you won't find any support from leading Brexiteers, Johnson, Rees-Mogg etc).

They won't stop buying British services and goods, but they will buy fewer if the UK leaves the single market (partly because they'll be more expensive and partly because British service industries are relocating abroad). Brexit was not Ireland's idea. The best solution is for the UK to stay in the single market. That's why Wales and Scotland have already demanded 'special status' like Northern Ireland (ie staying in the single market).

  6. Hopefully the UK will stay within a customs union but there is bound to be more of a border than now. I expect, for example, Dublin to keep out the chlorinated chicken the Brexiteers want to import (banned by EU regulations). And of course the Brexiteers want to ‘control immigration’ - that necessitates border checks. Ireland is rightly negotiating with European partners in the hope the British see sense and minimise the damage.

  8. There has to be a hard border. We need to get used to it. The Irish government will have to keep out chlorinated chicken and GM vegetables that the Brexiteers say they will import. The UK government wants to keep out immigrants.
