Ask the Brexit Party, they seem to know all about it.

This is a matter of national security. The Brexit Party are a bunch of spivs trying to take advantage.

The Brexiteers are very close to Trump .....

The globalists want to destroy the foreign office, as well as the BBC. The Brexit Party as so close to both Trump and Russia .... look at Banks' mining interests in Russia!!

Interesting how close the hard Brexiteers have become to Trump. And it 's funny how Tice knows so much about the memo ... including stuff I don't think was in the report!

Trump has no respect for the UK.

@marksmith8732 That's just Project Fear. And no business plans can rely on a man as unpredictable and childish as Trump. The whole affair hints again at the rather sordid links between the hard Brexiteers and the Trump administation/business mafia. Hpefully who ever is responsible for the leak can be found before the undermine national security.

@marksmith8732 If Trump would cust off "billions of trade" - your words - because someone criticises him then anyone would be mad to do any trade with the US, free or otherwise.
1
@marksmith8732 Because it's not up to Trump to decide who the British ambassador is, that's a gross violation of sovereignty. The whole thing should not be passed over: it's vital for national security to find out how a confidential diplomatic memo was given to a newspaper.
1
@marksmith8732 UK ambassadors need to be able to make frank assessments - and they and military commaners need to know the lines of communication are secure. No foreign government should interfere in Britian's soveriegn right to pick its own ambassadors. Trump interfered a while back by suggeting a politician he likes should fill the post!
1
@marksmith8732 It's frightening that anything important should depend on the instability and temper tantrums of Donald Trump. Britain must defend its sovereignty.
1
@marksmith8732 Ambassador has resigned after Boris Johnson failed to back him. Looks like Johnson wants to be Trump's poodle. British sovereignty is being seriously undermined - not to mention the accepted practices of diplomacy. What next? Farage as health secretary as the US corporates move in?
1
@marksmith8732 Let's see who's leaking confidential communications to the press. That's the reality we need to see. Trump is of course at fault for his childish temper tantrum, which of course confirms the ambassador's assessment. Good to see May stand up for British sovereignty. The only one looking like a dead fish is Boris Johnson, who himself has called Trump "staggeringly stupid" but is now posing as a lap dog.
1
@marksmith8732 I don't know who leaked it. Trump should have ignored it rather than blowing it up into a huge issue (and also criticising May, whose treatment of Brexit he had earlier praised). The ambassador has resigned, putting his country first, and the Trump administration remains dysfuctional and Trump is still a self-centred child.
1
@marksmith8732 The US public debt is booming - but that's not the issue. Trump praised May's handling of Brexit recently - so now he changed his mind because of the leaked memo. That's the behaviour of a spoilt child, not a political leader. The whole story reveals how vulnerable the UK would become in any closer relationship with the US and why we need the support from our other allies.
