There are the memoirs of Stalin's sniper, Lyudmila Pavlichenko. She was the one traveling to New York city and gave a speech which changed a lot of minds in there. Her speech: Gentlemen, I am 25 years old and I killed 309 fascist occupants by now. Don't you think, gentleman, that you have been hiding behind my back for too long? She made an impression and the singer Woody Guthrie even wrote a song about her. We learned a lot about WW1, WW2 and the Holocaust, we went to KZ-Gedenkstätten in Dachau and Sachsenburg, we also had survivors to tell us their story. We also read so many books, from Anne Frank to Schindlers list.
