  3. Another great train and railway video, @DownieLive. It's always great to see your support for trains and railways. Check out the restoration of the Nashville, Chattanooga, and St. Louis steam locomotive 576. After sitting in Nashville's Centennial Park for 66 years, it is currently undergoing restoration to return to steam power on the Nashville and Eastern as an excursion train. A number of large grants, including support from CSX, are making it possible. She should be moving under her own power in two to three years. Also, if you ever pass through Atlanta, check out the Southeastern Railway Museum. It is a great collection of vintage railroad equipment. Sadly, though, most of their steam equipment is inoperable. Check them out. Thanks for your support of the railroad industry. I look forward to your Saturday videos. A train video is an added bonus!

  11. Another great side trip in Scotland is St. Andrews. It's great to go and walk the Old Course. It's totally different from any courses"across the pond". A favorite saying there is "Designed by God with a little help from Old Tom Morris".

It appears to have a fun and bohemian groove. Their Chamber of Commerce should use this video to promote the town. Well done, my on-line friend. Keep up the good work.

  20. Atlanta once had, for a short while, an NHL team (The Flames). In college, I went to a number of games at the Omni. It seemed the highlight was halftime when the Zamboni came out and resurfaced the ice. There were also three public ice skating venues in Atlanta (The Omni International Hotel, Parkaire Mall, and Shenandoah at Newnan). Again, it was a highlight when the Zamboni would be brought out to resurface the ice. Sadly ice hockey did not catch in Atlanta (the only sporting events more poorly attended were the Braves games of that same era). The Flames departed for Calgary. The Omni International became CNN Center. Shenandoah (a solar powered rink) failed because it was ahead of its time. It was a great place for a date, though! Thanks for bringing back some great memories... and teaching me how that great Zamboni operates.

  26. Very impressive that no chain stores have entered the town. Big and Small box retailers have destroyed the"Mom and Pop" entrepreneurship. Glad to see it alive and kicking in Churchill. Another great video.
