  2. I'm in the UK and my wife is diabetic. She pays nothing for insulin, not a penny. Insulin and test strips and blood sugar monitors and medical appointments are all free. Yes I pay more tax than I would in the US but my tax is still less than US taxes plus a good health insurance policy for the whole family. The maximum for any prescription in the UK is £9 per item for a week supply but for nearly all long term illnesses it's free and for pensioners or unemployed or children it's free. Unfortunately, our current government wants to change to the US system, fortunately, they'll be out before they have the chance to do it
