  1. A friends brother who I knew for years was always very depressed, for a good 20 years. One day I heard he had gender reassignment following a years long transition. I met her again last year and she's so much more chilled out and happier and more comfortable. If that's the effect it can have on someone then it can only be good. I'm sure it doesn't always go that good but it clearly can.
