  1. It's needed to produce them but it's a choice to use it to charge them. We could have a fully nuclear grid or, as an island we should be using tidal power

  2. Why exactly are wind turbine blades an eco disaster? They're quite easy to recycle after their 25 year life. Most commonly they are shredded to make insulation materials. There are now a number of companies who specialise in recycling them. Like it or not, all car manufacturers are winding down combustion engine manufacturing, it just doesn't make commercial sense to have two entirely different types of power plant and two different types of car neither of which can run the other type of power plant
