  1. Theres a very good functional reason reason for not burying power lines. They get hot and having them out in the open allows that heat to dissipate and they then run cooler and more efficiently. Also, cable strikes are a bit nasty with 400,000 volts. That would kill anyone within 25 metres. Cable strikes happen a lot during excavation.

  2. ​@markperrin8098 £11bn was paid by the UK government to oil companies in subsidies last year. Even without the green tax of £65 per mWh on fossil fuel energy, its still £15 - £20 per mWh more expensive than green energy. Also, green energy doesn't rocket in price every time a country in the most unstable part of the world has yet another war.
