  1. As an engineer myself, I can absolutely confirm that no engineer would ever work in imperial units. Even the American engineers I work with use metric and then just tell their CAD techs to convert to imperial. Calculations take so much longer in imperial and are more complicated due to nothing being properly related to anything else. For example, if I have 10 metres of water depth, then I instantly know the pressure at the bottom is 1 bar. There is not one single logical unit like that in imperial
