  4. I have come across one flat earther in my professional capacity. He rejected my work because it included gravity in a mechanical equation. I took out the letter "g" from the equation and replaced it with a constant value 9.81 (the value for accelleration due to gravity in metres per second) and resubmitted it and got the response "see, you don't need gravity. It isn't real"

The list Rudy the legal genius presented in his court case were all living people who had the same names as dead people. In a country where it's not uncommon for people to have the same first and last name as their father or grandfather, that's going to happen, a lot.

  8.  @theearwyrm  every other first world country makes state run schools the norm (along with healthcare) and they all have a better educated population and lower crime and considerably lower murder rates. They do have lower religious participation and higher rates of social mobility with people born in poverty able to be successful though which is probably what republicans are scared of.

  10. @Mainely I'm from the UK but visited the bible belt and stayed as a guest on a farm. When asked whether we wanted a lift to church on Sunday morning, I responeded "we don't go to church, we're not really religious". The look they gave me was like they'd suddenly realised I was the reincarnation of satan. We were kicked out straight away and they phoned ahead to the hotel in town and the next two towns so we couldn't stay there. Didn't seem very christian of them.

  12. Chirstmas in December came from the pagan winter solstice. The traditions of santa and presents and decorations and trees all came from pagans. Halloween is also a pagan festival. Shouldn't be christians be happy to get rid of these pagan traditions?

The most intelligent person I ever met was a metallurgy professor who explained complex material properties with a chocolate bar. Every one of us in that class scored a distinction becuase he made the subjects so simple.

  23. Same here in the UK. In the town where I live, the last murder was in 1893, and no one has ever been shot. There have been mass shootings in the UK, then strict gun controls were introduced and there hasn't been a mass shooting in the decades since. Guns are common here but strictly regulated and if you break any of those regulations you will be prosecuted and never have a gun again. There are illegal guns but they're pretty much only used by drug gangs and rarely used.

We use the most significant factors and combine them with statistical analysis and experience of past events. I do exactly the same in my work, I ignore the minor factors, use the significan factors and let my experience do the rest and 99% of the time it works

  27.  @Elatenl  I would much rather pay for health care through taxes than pay for private healthcare where the top priority is profits and a good return for shareholders. I did a comparison of US healthcare vs UK and to get the same level ove coverage, taxes plus health insurance was more than double the cost of UK taxes. I couldn't quite find a true equivalent in the US which guaranteed treatment in any hospital or cover for any & every illness including prescriptions. Then there's prescriptions, my wife as a diabetic would be £12k a year worse off paying for insulin, she pays nothing for prescriptions while I pay a maximum of £9.35 for a months supply of each medication, no matter what it is.

He knew what the law was, he broke the law so now he has to deal with the consequences. If he didn't want the consequences, he shouldn't have broken the law, it's that simple

The US democrats are center right, they're politically very similar to the Conservatives here in the UK. You can't fight the socialists and communists if you don't know who they are. A few mild socialist principles such as universal healthcare are very beneficial to most people. I earn about 50% above the average salary here in the UK and my taxes are barely above what I'd pay in the US (about 2% more, an amount I'd never notice) but I have healthcare which covers any illness or injury at any hospital or doctors surgery, includes ambulance (even helicopters) and I pay an absolute maximum of £9.35 per month for any prescription. And that is so much cheaper because it's not being run to make shareholders rich, it's run to make people healthy..

You've got cripplling division between the political left and right which is so bad that both side will harm themselves if it means they can stick on to the other side. You've got insane conspiracy theories becoming popular and even conspiracy theorists in government. The glory days of the United States as a great nation are over and I can't see this being fixed

After defining sanctions against certain types of Russian millionaires and billionaires, it worked out that 35 individuals met the criteria for the sanctions. Of those 35, 23 were financial donors to the Conservative party and of those 23 none have received the sanctions.

  42. The whole bit about comedy has been well explained by Scottish comedian Frankie Boyle. He's well known for really pushing the boundries of what you can get away with and making listeners uncomfortable. He says you can joke about anything but firstly you don't resort to insulting, you joke about the situation and secondly you have to make it funny. He's been banned from tv channels in the past because of his jokes but since then he's learnt to be more clever with his jokes and make exactly the same points even more funny and make people even more uncomfortable but is never racist/sexist/homophobic etc

  44. I'm in the UK. Treatment for broken bones on state healthcare is immediat. I broke bones a few times back in my mountain bike racing days and twice I was in the operating theatre within hours. You will wait for non essential treatment, I recently waited four weeks (longest wait I've ever had) for physio for a muscle injury but even then I was told how to take care of the injury straight away and given prescription painkillers which cost me £9 for a months supply.

Brand was fired from the BBC after a "prank" where he called Andrew Sachs and left obscene answerphone messages about his grand daughter. Brand is also a well known fan of cocaine yet claims to be unsure about taking the vaccine because he doesn't know what's in it! He thinks he know's what's in his cocaine?

I'm not really sure of the purpose of it, the next election is in 3 years and that is Trump's absolute last chance, he's an old man. He'll be 78 at the next election and 82 at the one after. The kids this is aimed at will never get the opertunity to vote for (or against) Trump.
