People are being thrown in prison here for writing comments on social media. A 61 yr old man (Peter Lynch) was given a two year sentence for shouting at police during a protest. In fact what happened in the previous all out war: in 2014 DPR forces (East Ukraine forces) had surrounded Ukraine's army in Donbass and were getting ready to annihilate them: they were going to wipe them out and had fully intended to. Angela Merkel then contacted Putin personally to ask him to use his influence and intervene, which is what he did and there was a ceasefire: the Ukraine army was allowed to leave peacefully and the MInsk agreement was signed. I hadn't heard of attacks on them when they were leaving, but I'm going to try and find out about that now that you've mentioned it. I just want to note, with that, that in the 2014 war it was Donbass's own forces that were fighting the Ukraine military, there were Russian soldiers on the ground, true, but not many and Russia kept at arms length from that conflict. I know that after Minsk was signed the Ukraine army immediately started shelling East Ukraine again and have been ever since, but in February East Ukraine mobilised when the shelling intensified and Ukraine forces began amassing at the border: this time Donbass asked Russia to bring it's military in to help them.

I've been following that conflict since 2014: you forgot to mention the banning of the Russian language, followed by attacks on East Ukraine which culminated in the massacre (burning alive) of ethnic Russian civilians in the Odessa Union building - and the fact that the ne0-n@zis who murdered them were then given their own regiment within the National Guard. You forgot to mention the 8 years of shelling on Donbas that followed and then the mass formation of Kiev forces on the border in Feb 2022 as they got ready to invade East Ukraine and were beaten to it.

In all honesty The Ukraine govt has been attacking (mainly Ethnic Russian) East Ukraine for many years now, despite numerous attempts by the Russians to end this diplomatically: last week Ukraine forces began shelling East Ukraine and the Russians and east Ukrainians finally had enough and they reacted. That's all that happened. But it's now being resolved, they've started negotiations to end hostilities and it'll be over soon. Just remember - this is the same media and political class that told us 24/7 that saddam hussein had weapons of mass destruction and he was going to wipe us out in 45 minutes. Half a million Iraqis were slaughtered in the military action that followed and we found out afterwards that they were all lying to us.

What happened in Ukraine is this: the official Ukraine government had been planning to attack East Ukraine for months (East Ukraine is mainly ethnic Russian): in the last week Ukraine forces began that attack by shelling the East Ukraine region (Donbass) as a result of that two East Ukraine states (Donetsk and Luhansk) Asked Russia to recognise them as independent states, Russia finally agreed after many years to do so. This is all that happened with the Ukraine situation. I guess the Ukraine government knew it could attack and that our liying media and politicians over here in the West would be only too happy to lie about it and blame East Ukraine and Russia. I can't believe that so many people are believing the same old liars.

This was the final straw for East Ukraine which immediately mobilised and invited Russia to help push the Ukraine army back. These are all facts. That's all that happened. But it's now being resolved despite the best efforts of our media and political class. But they'll be back with another exaggerated crisis very soon, 'though, it's up to people now to start researching their claims further and start taking their claims with a grain of salt or spend the rest of their lives in perpetual fear, which must be an absolutely horrible way to live.

A NATO general was even killed during a failed incursion in Donbas back in 2014/15 (when the war really started). You probably didn't know that this conflict is between East and West Ukraine, not Russia and Ukraine. East Ukraine won the brief war of 2014, the Minsk Peace Agreement was signed after Vladimir Putin persuaded East Ukraine forces to allow 30,000 troops (who were surrounded and about to be annihilated) to leave the area peacefully. At this point Russia was not involved in the conflict but trying to end it peacefully. After Minsk was signed the Ukraine army began shelling and attacking East Ukraine again. Russia tried for years to end this diplomatically and were laughed at and ignored by Ukrainian and Western leaders. I don't know if you remember Putin's exasperated warnings over the years. Anyway - in February Ukraine forces intensified the shelling of East Ukraine and tens of thousands of troops began amassing on the border. As an army medic you would know exactly what that means. This time East Ukraine had had enough - they mobilised and invited Russia in to help them push the Ukraine army back and end this once and for all. Those are the facts, regardless of what our media and political class are saying - the same media and political class who told us that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. That lie cost 1 million lives - they don't care what their lies cost. You may also want to do an internet search on the azov battalion to find out exactly who and what they are.

You also may want to look at the Rand Corporation's paper released in 2019 outlining steps that can be taken to provoke Russia into a long war using Ukraine as a proxy. These are all facts. If Russia was the bad guy in this situation I would say so - but in this situation they are not.

What happened in Ukraine is this: the official Ukraine government had been planning to attack East Ukraine for months (East Ukraine is mainly ethnic Russian): in the last week Ukraine forces began that attack by shelling the East Ukraine region (Donbass) as a result of that two East Ukraine states (Donetsk and Luhansk) Asked Russia to recognise them as independent states, Russia finally agreed after many years to do so. This is all that happened with the Ukraine situation. I guess the Ukraine government knew it could attack and that our liying media and politicians over here in the West would be only too happy to lie about it and blame East Ukraine and Russia. I can't believe that so many people are believing the same old liars.

Putin warned publicly on many occasions that the attacks need to stop and and that Minsk needs to be honoured. His words fell on deaf ears. Last month 60,000 Ukraine troops amassed on the border and began intense shelling of East Ukraine - East Ukraine and Russia had finally had enough and began a pushback. To learn more about the nazis in Ukraine's govt and military look into the Azov battalion, C-14 and the Right Sector. We are being lied to wholesale by the usual politicians and media.

The one thing I didn't mention is that I feel awful for the people of both sides in this war: Zelensky was voted in overwhelmingly on a mandate of normalising relations with East Ukraine & Russia and enforcing the Minsk agreement: the people of Ukraine wanted peace. I've worked with Ukrainians over in England and found them to be very good to deal with - and I lived in Germany after the wall came down and worked with a number of Bosnian and Croat refugees, as well as Serbs: I found them all to be lovely people so it always puzzled me why that war was so savage: but there are always geo-political chess players and psychopaths trying to pit people against each other - and without going too far down the rabbit hole the usual suspects always show up, and very few of them live in the countries they help destroy. I hope there will be peace soon - the war seems to be nearly over - let's hope it will be and that these poor people can go back to rebuilding their lives.

I've not followed any propaganda: I've simply been following this conflict since 2014 and if Russia had been the aggressor I would have said so and would have had no problem saying so. If I followed propaganda I would be agreeing with 99.9% of our press and agreeing with you. Don't forget our press told us Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction: a million dead later and they all admitted he didn't: that's the last time I believed them: and here they are again using the exact same template with Ukraine. This was the final straw for East Ukraine which immediately mobilised and invited Russia to help push the Ukraine army back. These are all facts. Don't forget that the same media told us Iraq had wmds and that Assad gassed his own people. have a look at Patrick Lancaster's channel: independent journalist who has been on the ground in the frontlines since 2014. Then draw your own conclusions.
