  1. True. The British government also welcomed Berezovsky with open arms: he was the the oligarch who had Alexander Lebed murdered for brokering a ceasefire and peace talks in Chechnya. The British govt will lower itself to any level. At any rate my understanding is that Obramovich was thrown out of Russia by Putin. But rewriting history is something the bbc loves doing.
