The biggest outrage to me is that so many people rolled over for this: none of this would have been possible without the compliance of so many.

@UniqueBreakfastTaco Its incredible. I lost respect for an awful lot of people during that time: plus not being allowed into shops and being called a conspiracy nut and a granny killer when I was trying to warn people really disgusted me.

Not idiocy. They did it all on purpose - and they enjoyed every moment of it.

The thing that outrages me even more than that is that so many people believed a gang of politicians and their friends in big pharma - and that they were happy to hand away all the freedoms and autonomy that previous generations fought hard for.

@macbird-lt8de Yeah right.

True. I still remember the abuse and discrimination I faced for refusing the muzzle and the jab - and that was from ordinary people.

Exactly.

Exactly. A few weeks ago I was watching psychologist explain why so many people rolled over for this (mass state psychosis) but I'd love to have heard him explain what mindset made others refuse the mask or the jab. I'm one of those who refused but I don't know why I was able to see the madness while other (seemingly intelligent) people couldn't.

@GT-pl1wx Including a lot of people who knew better.

@John-J-Rambo That's an interesting point about TV. I've wondered if that's the reason sometimes. I switched mine off a long time ago: one of the best things I ever did. I saw a psychologist describe the mass compliance as 'mass state psychosis' - he talked about the factors that go into it: but I wish he had explained the factors that went into the people who weren't fooled and who refused to comply - that would interest me a lot more: to know what it was that prompted those of us to push back.

@rachelmartineau8102 Yep - that's the same with a few other people I know. They did it for holidays. In my case I live in the UK but was not born here: for a while I actually thought I may not be allowed back into my home country - and that was a very uncomfortable thought: thankfully I was one of those who held out. The people who took that crap so they could go on holidays - especially those like your friend who didn't even go on holiday - deserved what they got.

@jimpugh6357 You're absolutely right: and they are the ones I really lost respect for.

@20dieux True. I think Mark Twain once said that it's easier to fool people than to convince them they were fooled. The important thing now is to shame them and never let them forget. Maybe that will make them think twice next time.

@K-Dog789 ....only if we allow it to be. They have no means of enforcing this if no-one complies. Cowardice and pessimism is what gives them their power, just like the compliance to the lock down did.

@RedGreenLugar Yep - welcome to clown world :/

@leung9401 Okay: let me qualify that: I do have a lot of sympathy for those who could have lost their jobs if they didn't take it, but none for those who bullied others. There was plenty of judgement going around when the shoe was on the other foot and I still remember the abuse I took when I was trying to warn people to be cautious. I have a certain amount of sympathy for those who took it because they thought it was safe but seriously - a vaccine that was created and rolled out in a few month? That alone should have been a huge red flag to everyone. There were lessons to be learned, let's hope people have genuinely learned them and refuse to comply next time they try this.
