  2. Clueless he may be but don't give him a fool's pardon. He is doing all this on purpose: he was either bribed or blackmailed. This is all intentional and he pretends he doesn't really know what's going on.

  3. Those two are talking about THEIR OWN personal international obligations. They were paid a lot of money and made a lot of promises - and they were all made to people who don't even live in Ireland or care about Ireland.
