It's always galled me that military commanders who grew up and lived in safe countries like the UK, US, France etc could so happily waltz into another country that's ravaged by war and happily pile on more misery - then jump on a helicopter back to their own nice, safe, sunny countries when things get too hot for them. In my mind they are the worst. Its poetic justice that the carnage they helped create is preventing them from leaving.

The battalion had changed into civilian clothes and fled before the DPR arrived: their disgarded uniforms, chevrons and flags were everywhere in the basement.
