I missed it - Summer 1991 I was driving back from Austria to Munich and we ran out of time to visit the castle but I could see it in the distance as we were driving by. I never got to visit it in the end as I left Germany only a few months later. There's no place like Bavaria in winter, 'though - it's like a fairy tale land and impossible to appreciate unless you've been there.
