These interviews with those from generations past are invaluable. I was lucky enough to be around when the WW1 generation were still alive. They were stoic, solid, tough without putting on an act, and strong: I feel very lucky to have known them.

A number of Irish guys who applied for their green card to live in the USA ended up being drafted and sent to Vietnam first; it's a bit of a sad story in itself and I believe Irish TV did a documentary about it a number of years ago.

@huntclanhunt9697 There were survivors around until 2012, true - I'm specifically talking about people who I myself was personally close to.

Wow. That was lucky!

@ChadOfAllChads What an unbelievably stupid remark.

I agree completely: my parents generation were the boomer generation - that generation had a MAJOR attitude problem. I remember, even as a child, thinking they were a bunch of hypocrites and @r$eh0les: but then I thought, maybe I'll see things from their perspective when I'm their age. NOPE: my opinion of them now is even lower than it was when I was a child. They threw away everything that was given to them by previous generations.

@montanagal6958 True.

@ChadOfAllChads There were no freedom rallies for the Irish either and you wouldn't believe how many of them were put straight into indentured servitude as soon as they arrived in America. And believe me - modern day liberals are the biggest racists of the lot - they look down on everyone: including black people who they regard as nothing more than mascots for their own virtue signalling.

@ChadOfAllChads Take another look at your history: the Irish weren't even allowed to vote in Northern Ireland until the 1960s unless they were protestants - and if they walked into the wrong area there they were KILLED. And that only ended in the 1990s.You bring up whataboutism and then tell me not to bring it up. Dear oh dear.

@PeteQuad So not all people are good. That's pretty obvious - but the comment I made was about their strength, stoicism and toughness.

This clip seems as if its from the documentary series 'Vietnam, The Ten Thousand Day War'. I may be wrong but I think I remember this clip from that series.

@DavidHoffmanFilmmaker 'The 10 Thousand Day War' was broadcast in 1980, hardly decades later, but thank you for correcting me on the source of the interview.

@apseudonym Excellent point.

@alekseicarpenter3359 The black community was actually doing very well: your real problem is that, by that stage, the Deep State was already busy dismantling America so it could control it. Divide and Conquer was a very important part of it: many of the bloodline families that ran the slave trade now control the politicians who are telling you that innocent white men were responsible for enslaving your ancestors. Then they asked you for your vote. Unfortunately it worked and continues to work. I'm white - I was born in Ireland in the 1960's: Irish Catholics were not even allowed to VOTE in Northern Ireland back then - regardless of whether they were white or men. Know your enemy - because I can guarantee you your enemy knows you better than you know yourself.

Its worse than that: not only did the boomers not earn it - they spent their post-college lives destroying everything that had been handed to them by previous generations. My parent's generation were the boomer generations and, even as a child, I looked on them as all hypocrites with a massive chip on their shoulders.

@Smith.S.sStocHasticSs My parents' generation were boomers, too: They'd have their friends, neighbours, colleagues around etc - and, with the exception of very few, they were all jackasses - even when I was a child I used to look at them all and think "Am I going to be like these people when I'm their age?". The biggest Ah*le generation that ever infected the planet
