  6.  @dougaltolan3017  It was even hotter than this, I remember it well: there was even a drought in Ireland, grass was yellow and orange from the sun and fires were even caused by the heat in some open areas. It was far, far hotter than this in the 1970's, especially early to mid 70s.

Even Ireland had a drought, the grass was yellow and there were even some open air fires caused by the heat: the early to mid seventies were the hottest - 40 years ago: the weather goes in cycles: in the 1600's there were people growing grapevines in some parts of England.
