I've been following the Ukraine conflict since 2014 (when it really began): There is a documentary on youtube called Ukraine On Fire which explains the reality on the ground and is sickening. I would urge anyone who believes Ukraine is the good guy here to watch that doc.

He, like most of the TDs there, is an example of someone who went into politics because he was unemployable everywhere else: mix into it his numerous personal issues and you have a very angry person who revels in the pain he causes others.

  11.  @private-private  Crimea voted overwhelmingly to join the Russian Federation to protect themselves after the massacre of Ethnic Russians by Ukraine ""nationalists" in the Union Building in Odessa.This followed the banning of the Russian language by Poroshenko's government and the rise in attacks, leading to murders of ethnic Russians, including the near decapitation of the police chief of Donetsk infront of his wife, again by Ukraine "nationalists". You're not going to lie your way through this thread and get away with it - I know way too much about the background of that conflict.

Funny how people look back on things like the Salem Witch Trials and shake their heads at the barbarity, when we are witnessing exactly the same thing happening today: the only difference is hangings have been replaced by attempts to destroy peoples' lives and careers with false accusations and slanders.

There's no such thing as a wake up call for neo liberals: they have a long term goal - unfortunately for them the "elite" also has a long term goal that won't work out very well for even the neo liberals who are aggressively pushing this through if they get their way.I still find it incredible that Clare Daly is one of only a handful of Irish politicians who are speaking out.

  15. Next time I'm back in Ireland I'll lay a wreath with an apology on it in the Garden Of Remembrance. Its hard to comprehend the sacrifices that were made over 800 years for the freedom of that country: only to be discarded by a bunch of weak, corrupt and greedy men and women within 2 decades.
