I can fathom it: they are corrupt cowards and there must be something seriously wrong from top to bottom that those heavily armed officers can stand there for an hour listenign to children being slaughtered, and the only arrests they make are of parents trying to do their job for them. Something seriously wrong there.

@guillermoelnino I heard a claim that they were ordered to stand down, but haven't heard that substantiated. I have heard strong claims also that the DA or Mayor is trying to frustrate the investigation into what happened.

@sharonthompson8061 Just about everything from that day seems like grounds for both civil law suits and criminal prosecutions. Maybe on the grounds of the officers assisting in the commission of a crime, also false imprisonment and assault. That's my interpretation, anyway. The officers were also seriously criminally negligent: also I believe the Mayor was involved in a lot of what happened and is trying to hush it all up.

Criminal negligence isn't a description I've heard here - but that describes perfectly what was going on here. Not only did those cowards just stand there - they stopped, attacked, arrested and tased parents who tried to go in there to do their jobs for them.

It's worse than that: Democracy Now was interviewing the editor of a local newspaper there and she claimed that the police have started warning and threatening anyone who talks to the press: she even made the claim that they threatened the parent they had handcuffed and told her not to keep talking to the press. The entire dept seems to be rotten to the core.

TBH no need even to be devil's advocate to point that out. I agree. He's clearly a trouble maker who enjoys intimidating people - even the way he was walking up to that guy, that sideways walk, he likes to make an issue of it. I'd imagine he's done this a lot.

The Uvalde police are harassing and threatening anyone who speaks out: imagine standing outside as a policeman allowing a killer to slaughter his way through a school, and then attacking, arresting and harassing and then threatening any civilian who tried to save the children.
