@p.j.talavera8106 I don't believe you. I would consider what you're claiming if it wasn't for the fact that she's not the only one being harassed by them. Journalists and other parents are being harassed by them too.

Worse than just cowardice: they are now harassing and threatening parents who speak out - they also recently started staking out the house of the mother they arrested who then went in there to save children.

I have to admit' 'though - I do describe everyone there (the officers) as cowards: it doesn't matter that they didn't know what to do: they are trained and armed and have the full force of the state behind them and, as a result, have privileges and prerogatives that none of the rest of us have, including the untrained and unarmed people who did run in there to save children. I also have to say that, up until this happened, I honestly didn't think it was in human DNA to just stand there while children were being slaughtered nearby - even less so with an army of heavily armed police men and women. Maybe it comes from the leadership: we had a police chief over here in the UK who actually resembles the Uvalde police chief: overweight and effete - clearly a political appointment. He was notorious for hiding in his armoured car with 2 other senior officers, locking themselves inside, whilst a junior officer was being murdered nearby by a jihadist with a machete. They're clearly being led by a weak and ineffective, probably corrupt, political appointee, but that only explains to a certain degree, not excuses, their (in)actions that day, in my opinion.

It's far worse than all that: not only did they cower behind walls, then arrest, assault, handcuff and taze parents who tried to save the children: they are now actively harassing and intimidating parents and journalists who talk to them: officers started harassing and threatening one of the mothers who saved children in the building and now have a car staking her house out. Democracy Now' has been interviewing the people they are harassing.

Actually there is a follow up to that story: Uvalde police are now harassing and threatening her - and they started staking out her home recently: Democracy Now and other local news outlets have been interviewing her and other parents and journalists who are now being harassed by these cowards.

@p.j.talavera8106 P.S. My apologies for saying I don't believe you: I'm normally not this insulting towards people (especially when they are polite in return, which is what you were) but I genuinely believed you were one of the officers.
