  3. TBH he doesn't even want Ukraine. This was launched to protect ethnic Russian states in East Ukraine which were being attacked since 2014. Also to keep NATO away from Russia's border so its no longer a threat. Russia's only demand is that Ukraine remain neutral and keep to that promise. There is a very good youtube documentary called 'Ukraine on Fire' which tells the truth of that conflict. It explains everything. The Russians did everything they could to avoid conflict.
