  1. Orwell never intended 1984 as a novel: it was a warning dressed up as a novel. He was a member of the Fabian Society so he was privy to the freaks and misfits that steer government policy and social programs. He was letting people know what the long term plans of the permanent state were.

  2. The thing that disturbs me most about all this was not the politicians and pharma that pushed all this - but the amount of ordinary people who willingly took part in the destruction of their own and their loved ones's lives - on the word politicians, when they know are liars, anyway.
