@GManWrites That's very surprising to me, too. I thought it might even be mentioned in this episode but I guess just not many people know the story of Robinson Crusoe these days.

If I remember correctly Robinson Crusoe was based on the story of Alexander Selkirk. Also when Selkirk returned to England a wisened, more relaxed individual, he then returned to his old hard drinking and wayward ways.

@GManWrites I didn't know that. I had no idea he met Selkirk. But now that you mention it I do remember in school reading an account written by a man who met Selkirk - maybe that was Daniel DeFoe(?). Hard to believe that pub is still around: but I've noticed some of the pubs here in England are very old, they have a lovely look about them with the beamed ceilings etc.
