  1. Around 2022 I remember seeing a comment on social media by a Kenyan who was joining his two brothers (experienced mercenaries) to fight as mercenaries against the Russians in Ukraine. He was talking as if he was going on safari. I warned him not to go and that they would not be facing lightly armed militias. I doubt if he listened to me - its likely they're all dead now or, if they were lucky, flew back home when reality hit.

  3. Heart wrenching. I have a strong stomach but wasn't able to watch more than 1min 40 seconds. I hope he's at peace wherever he is. Fought to the end without a hint of fear in his eyes. I'll be praying for him. From the UK.

  4. It beggars belief. The information was there for anyone who wanted to understand what was going on over there. Imagine travelling across the world to fight for Zelensky and his gang. EDIT: After listening to him talk for 8 minutes I can really understand the frustration behind that sl@p. 11 minutes in he says that even a Ukrainian officer punched him before they were captured.

  5. Even WW1: the trench warfare on the frontlines is just like what it was over 100 years ago - soldiers are even having to have their feet amputated because they're getting Trench foot. I can't imagine how they manage to live through that hell.

  6. I have been following that conflict since 2014. Those guys really should have done some research on that conflict and who they'd be fighting for before they considered going over there.

I could never understand the need by some people who grew up in safe, functioning affluent countries, to travel to poor or troubled countries and contribute further to the misery of people who have no choice but to live there and, once the safari is over, fly back to their nice, safe, country towns again.
