Exactly. He was brought in by the Irish statelet specifically because he is a sectarian former head of the RUC, which was disbanded specifically because it was a sectarian police force.

@biulaimh3097 He's corrupt himself: that's why he was chosen. They just said he was being brought in to deal with corruption because they knew that claim would give him cover.

Of course he defends it. He is the one ordering them to behave like this. Former head of the RUC which was disbanded and replaced because it was a sectarian police force, he is defending what he has told them to do.
