You might also want to look at the strength of the Ruble compared to the dollar in recent weeks: you might also want to look into the fact that Russia is completely self sufficient with a national debt that's only a fraction of what our countries in the West is. Russia is coming out of this just fine. It's us over here who are feeling the real consequences of the military industrial compex's need to mess with every country it doesn't control. You and your children are going to be paying through your nose to subsidise this latest military venture and we, in Europe, are already paying a heavy price for all our leaders' obsession with Russia.

Well, at least you've admittted what your real attitude towards democracy is if you don't like the leader. On that note: he was removed in a violent coup which was bankrolled to the tune of $5bn US tax dollares by the US State Dept and Victoria Nuland. He was replaced by the oligarch Petro Poroshenko who is very close to the US State. On that particular note I'll tell you what happened in East Ukraine. Shortly after Poroshenko was installed, he banned the Russian language - what followed very soon afterwards were co-ordinated attacks on Russian speakers (most of whom reside in East Ukraine): these attacks escalated to massacres, the most infamous being when 50 (peaceful) Russin speaking protestors were rounded up, locked in a government building in Odessa, and burned alive by members of azov (who were soon afterwards absorbed into the Ukraine military): the military then began attacking East Ukraine (Donbass) and the 2014-2016 war began in East Ukraine. The Russians were not involved. East Ukraine won and Putin BROKERED A PEACE DEAL between Donbass and Kiev (The Minsk Agreement): as soon as it was signed Ukraine's military began attacking East Ukraine again. In February this year Ukraine's army intensified shelling on East Ukraine and began amassing on the border: this time East Ukraine had had enough - they mobilised and invited Russia in to help them to end this once and for all - and this time Russia agreed. 8 years is a long time to tolerate being shelled and attacked while Russia tries every diplomatic means it can to stop this. That's what happened: whether you believe me or not is not relevant to me: its all a matter of public record - and you are being manipulated and lied to by the same sources who told you saddam hussein had weapons of mass destruction: I hope now you will do your own research on what's really happening in Ukraine and why.

  33. What's deeply disturbing to me is how little difference there has been between fox and cnn regarding Ukraine: not all fox shows, of course, but nearly all of them. I've been following this conflict since 2014 (yes, fox, it didn't begin this February) when the attacks by Kiev on East Ukraine and attempts at ethnic cleansing began. At least many of the commenters aren't fooled, but shame on you.

If you research into what actually happened there starting with the violent overthrow of the democratically elected government there, and the attacks and massacres on (mainly ethnic Russian) East Ukraine that followed, you'll be shocked at the truth of what's been happening there - because it is a complete reversal of what the msm is claiming.

The Russians were not involved but Putin urged East Ukraine to ceasefire and make peace. A ceasefire followed and the The Minsk Peace Agreement was signed: but still Kiev's forces kept attacking East Ukraine. In Feb 2014 they intensified shelling and began amassing on the border: it was obvious what was coming next so East Ukraine mobilised and invited Russia in to help end this once and for all. You should really research this rather than relying on the word of the same media that told us iraq had weapons of mass destruction. That lie led to the slaughter of 1 million people, but you continue to be fooled and manipulated by these liars.

I never said anything about February 2014. Please read and understand my comments before commenting on them, I can't keep repeating myself when people misunderstand what I've written.

It was February 2022 that Ukraine's military intensified attacks and it was 2014 that Crimea voted to join the Russian federation. I hope that clarifies things.

It's good that you admit that Crimea had elections and wasn't annexed, where you realised you admitted it or not. Look - all I can say is if you actually knew what was happening there and what led to it, you would understand the point I'm making: but that would involve unbiased and genuine research and I don't see you doing that - again why so many people are so ready to believe a gang of proven liars like our media and political class is beyond me but I guess some people find the truth so uncomfortable that they feel safer being told what to believe by politicians and journalists There's nothing I can do for you there.

I listen to independent journalists on the ground (who have been there from the beginning) and well respected and unbiased analysts with a proven track record of honesty and lack of bias - and none of them are Russian or pro-Russian. It's really as simple as that - you're listening to the same political and media class that sold you Iraq's weapons of mass destruction - and repeating talking points that have been put in your head by proven liars is not a good starting point. I can't take you seriously because of it.
