@evertvdb000 Ukraine forces began shelling Donbass, the mainly ethnic Russian region of East Ukraine, recently. This is what prompted Donetsk and Luhansk to ask Russia to recognise them as independent states. Russia then recognised them (after years of reluctance) as independent states. This is what happened, nothing more, nothing less.

Well, in the last few months Ukraine forces had been preparing to attack the (mainly ethnic Russian) Donbass region in vilolation of the Minsk agreement, whilst Macron tried to distract Russia with faux diplomacy. Recently Ukraine forces began the actual shelling of Donbass and, as a direct result, two Donbass states, Donetsk and Luhansk, asked Russia to recognise them as independent states. Yesterday Russia finally did this after years of reluctance. This is what happened, nothing more, nothing less. I have long ago lost faith in Tom Cotton and I do not regard him as a genuine Republican or Conservative and I am equally disgusted that you can't even, as a channel, report on what has caused this current situation in that region.

That's true. It resulted from Ukraine forces beginning to shell Donbass recently in direct violation of the Minsk agreement. They had been preparing for this for months. As a result Donetsk and Luhansk asked Russia to recognise them as independent states and Russia finally did this yesterday after years of being reluctant to do so. I don't know why these msm channels are so incapable of just looking at, and reporting, facts.
