As a 'tip of the iceberg' synopsis this has some good points. The reality of what was done in that country is far, far darker.

Thank you for the comment. In fact it was never fully taught in Irish schools either. I studied history at honours level in an allegedly elite school in Ireland. Even I did was not taught the full length and breadth of the horror of what was done to the country until I started specifically looking into it for myself. Clearly, for whatever reason, the full scale of it is being kept quiet even in Ireland.

True.

@Pennyburn1688 Let me explain something to you, Penny. I live in the UK: I like the English: I didn't make one single negative comment about them. I made a statement of fact about the inbreds that perpetrated that ethnic cleansing: 700 years of it, by the way: so take your passive aggressive, irrelevant whataboutery: and stick it right far up where the sun doesn't shine. Yeah - moved on - and then you make a comment like that. Smh.

@vernongoodey5096 Rubbish. Any excuse, eh? Even if its a lie. Cromwell was a psychopath who even had a young English girl tortured to death during the Civil war for listening in on his conversations. Even after beheading the King he hunted his young son down to try to kill him, too. He despised the English as much as he despised the Irish - and he was a puppet of European central bankers.

True. I remember reading that.

@Dibley8899 Oh shut up! I guess your precious psycho Oliver Cromwell made up for it in the quarter of a million Irish men, women and children that he sold to slave ships bound for the Carribbean in just 10 years alone, and who knows how many during the entire penal times. The "famine", by the way, killed well over 1 million people. Move on, yourself, Percy.
