Exactly. And the fact that so many people don't even understand the significance of your comment is symbolic of a complete misunderstanding of what is really going on there. I honestly can't believe how many people still just took msm's narrative re: what's going on, even 'tough they all know mainstream media are liars.

They didn't invade. East Ukraine invited Russian troops in because they were being attacked relentlessly by the Ukraine military. East Ukraine is mainly ethnic Russian. In 2014 the new Ukraine government banned Russian and began attacks on ethnic Russians in East Ukraine - these attacks quickly escalated into massacres and Donetsk & Luhansk, East Ukraine, took up arms to defend themselves. Crimea voted to rejoin Russia to protect itself. Even 'though Donetsk and Luhansk asked Russia to allow them to rejoin, too, Russia refused because they were mindful of how this could be a provocation to the West. Unfortunately the attacks by the Ukraine army continued despite numerous efforts by Russia to get the Ukraine government to stick to the Minsk agreement. Last week the Ukraine army began shelling East Ukraine again and this time the Russians and East Ukrainians had had enough. Donetsk and Luhansk asked Russia to recognise them as independent states and Russia finally agreed and joined both states in a military push to force the attacking army out of the region.

True - and for NATO to stop sticking it's nose in and using Ukraine as a weapon.

Which side? East or West Ukraine? Because this conflict is between East and West Ukraine. It began when in 2014 The new Ukraine government began attacking the mainly ethnic Russian region of East Ukraine. those attacks never ended despite numerous attempts at diplomacy by the Russians. Last week The Ukraine military began shelling East Ukraine again and that's when the Russians had finally had enough and moved into east Ukraine (invited) and began pushing the army out.

@karlparratt1730 They didn't stick their noses in: they were invited by Donetsk and Luhansk after recognising them as independent states: Donetsk and Luhansk have endured relentless attacks from the Ukraine military for many years now. Russia has been trying diplomatically to end these hostilities. Last week Ukraine's military attacked East Ukraine again. Russia would not have entered had it not been for those attacks.

@dominikmdmx What an unbelievably stupid reply. You can't even argue with facts of anything I wrote so you revert to the language of a toddler. You may think that massacres and ethnic cleansing are a laughing matter. I don't. I've just described what caused this conflict. Grow up and do some research for yourself if you don't believe me.

@ztrees4024 Another one who shouts "rubbish" but who didn't contradict one single fact. if you don't believe what I'm saying - research it for yourself.

@javierdiaz7840 Thank you, Javier. To be honest all it took was a little deeper research into the recent history of that region. It really dismays me that more people refuse to look further into this and they believe the same political and media class that lied to us about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. Half a million lives that lie cost but still people believe these liars.

@googoo7750 Another one who can't argue or contradict one single thing I wrote but who hides behind a few cliches. I'll say the same thing to you as I did to the others - if you don't believe me, do the research for yourself.

@ztrees4024 Easily disproven? You don't seem to be finding it so easy but at least you're actually arguing like a grown up now. I never said anything about Russia liberating anyone: I said that Russia is helping the (mainly ethnic Russian) East Ukraine push the attacking Ukraine military out. And, lol, this is all about a lot more than oil, believe me.
