  1. True: Russia did not abandon Assad. Assad walked away after being betrayed by his new generals. Russia held the line but the Syrian army, more specifically, the Syrian generals, stood down unfortunately.

Tbh - call me cynical but I think that was left behind on purpose so the military industrial complex could get more money and more contracts to replace it all, and use it as an excuse to go back there some day. Everlasting war is what keeps these billionaires rolling.
