That's Petro Poroshenko: he was elected in 2014: immediately afterwards he banned the Russian language and began launching attacks on East Ukraine and ethnic Russians which led to the Odessa Union building massacre: his forces then launched a war on East Ukraine which he lost. A peace agreement was signed which Kiev never honoured and they have been attacking East Ukraine ever since. Russia and East Ukraine finally reacted last February. Zelensky was elected to undo the damage that this man did - its too bad he failed.

@djmorley718 No they didn't. That's not true: in 2014 the elected govt was overthrown in a violent coup with the help of $5bn from the US State Dept (they admit this themselves): an extreme right wing caretaker govt was installed, then Poroshenko was elected along with the Right Sector. He immediately banned the Russian language, then attacks on ethnic Russians in Ukraine began, which culminated in the massacre at the Union Building in Odessa: East Ukraine reacted by mobilising to protect itself. That's what happened: those are the facts. Not one single "separatist" would have taken up arms had it not been for the attacks that were mounted on Donbass. Integrating the murderers of the Odessa massacre into the Ukraine army and giving them their own regiment didn't help either.
