This is not true. The Ukrainian military had been launching attacks on (ethnic Russian) East Ukraine for a long time now whilst Russia was trying to stop this through diplomatic means. Nobody would listen to them. Then in the last few weeks the Ukraine military began shelling Donbass in east Ukraine and this prompted Donetsk and Luhansk (east Ukraine) to ask Russia to recognise them as independent states and to help them defend themselves: Russia finally agreed to do this and is now helping to push the Ukraine army out of Donbass. I find it utterly incredible that so many people have once again fallen for the lies of our politicians and media class. Don't forget that our politicians and media pushed exactly the same thing about Iraq and their weapons of mass destruction even 'though they knew it wasn't true. Half a million people were slaughtered during that venture.

@Garvin285 It's not. Honestly it's not. Look further into it. The people making these claims of Russian aggression are the same media and political class that told us saddam hussein had weapons of mass destruction 24/7 until we finally invaded, and half a million deaths later we found out they were lying. Don't fall for it again - I'm not.
