The protest was supposed to be in Stephen's Green (the large park nearby) but the police closed down access to the Green and prevented anyone from entering. They attempted to shut down a peaceful protest in a large green.

Poor Joe. These protestors realise that the government has little to no intention of lifting this lockdown, Covid or no Covid. That's the nature of politicians. They understand it - you don't: unfortunately affluence and freedom has produced a generation of bloated and neutered house pets just like you who really don't understand how politicians behave when they start getting a taste for control. You'll find out.

Because the Independent Newspaper is another compromised lying rag. It wasn't always like that: in fact I used to buy that newspaper regularly because it was independent. Not any more.

The protest was scheduled to be in Stephen's Green but the police locked down the green and prevented them from entering. That's why they were in the street. And you were in no danger from peaceful protestors - stop being afraid of your own shadow.

Its a bad route to go down: the British police started that about 20 years ago and they are now utterly despised by the public (and treated very badly, too, because of it). Its a pity to see the Irish police walking into that same trap.
