You're being lied to wholesale about what's really going on there, by the same media and politicians that told us Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. 1 million lives that lie cost and they don't care - they're doing it again. Russia spent 8 years doing everything it could to diplomatically stop the Ukraine army from attacking East Ukraine which is mainly ethnic Russian. 14, 000 people killed during that time while Russia tried to negotiate an end to the attacks: finally the Ukraine army got ready to invade in February 2022, and Russia and East Ukraine mobilised to push it back. That's literally what happened.
