  1. What our leaders over here failed to understand is that Putin is a qualified economist - he knew exactly what he was doing RE: Russia's economy - unlike our lot who have no qualifications, listen to their politically appointed "experts" (ideologues) and follow what they say.

  2.  @waynesilva9157  The Mises Institute: I didn't know that. They clearly underestimated him - as I understand it he's also a qualified lawyer and chemist with a very high IQ - but they were determined to see him as a dull, knuckle-dragging kgb thug.
