By the way: Russia said from the outset they had no intention of advancing on Kiev: their interest was only in stopping the relentless attacks on East Ukraine by Kiev forces, heading off the offensive that Kiev was getting ready to launch on Donbas in Feb 2022 - and in keeping nato away from its own border. P.S. - I don't get anyhting from main stream media - I do my own research - do you?

Russian language banned, ethnic Russian speakers attacked and beaten in streets: ethnic Russian protestors chased into Union building in Odessa and burned alive, those who escape are bludgeoned and shot to death. Azov extremists who massacred them are then offered their own battalion withing the Ukraine National guard. In the aftermath Crimea votes to joins the Russian Federation. Luhansk & Donetsk also ask to join but Russia turns them down but offers to help them militarily. Kiev attacks Donbas and is beaten in the 2014-15 war that follows. Minsk peace agreement signed, East Ukraine honours it, Kiev carries on shelling and attacking the East. 2019 Arestovich goes on record as saying he wants to draw Russia into a war in Ukraine in order to get nato involved. Feb 2022 Kiev forces intensify shelling of Donbas and begin amassing at the border. Donbas mobilises, declares Independance and asks Russia to recognise it. Russia agrees, Donbas invites Russian forces in to head off the planned Kiev invasion. March 2022 Moscow and Kiev begin talks to end hostilities. UK PM boris joihnson flies to Kiev to warn zelensky not to agree to anything, keep fighting and nato countries and eu will give him everything he needs. 2024, over half a million Ukrainians now lie dead.
