  1. A sovereign, ie. currency issuing govt is more like the opposite of a business tho. As a currency issuer, govt is far more powerful than any business; it can never go bankrupt; it has financial super powers which make it possible for social goods to effectively pay for themselves. A democratic govt with 100 million people also effectively means group rates and group discounts for a party of 100 million! Similarly, when it comes to health care, we can easily afford it because we rarely get sick, so it's trivial to ensure the 0.000001% who are sick at any moment get the care they need. The goal of neoliberalism is to pretend these super powers don't exist, so they can be provided half as well and double the price by corporations for profit. Giving up these super powers in the 1980s era is perhaps the stupidest thing humans have ever done. Never have so many given so much to so few with so little awareness
