Speaking for myself as a populist libertarian civic nationalist and constitutionalist I strongly believe in national sovereignty, being a positive influence for good around the world when warranted. I also believe in defense of national security interests and its allies are threatened to conduct tough love diplomacy by projecting peace through strength. China is a more an existential threat as a rising superpower than Russia is.
