The jazz piano of The Vince Guaraldi Trio and choristers from St. Paul's Episcopal Church in San Rafael, California. Christmas Time is Here.

If the vocal was any further back in the distance with the reverb you'd need a telescope. Lmao 😅 brilliant

Boring. Repetitive. A couple of them were interesting, Bruno Mars for example. Most had only 2 or 3 chords, a simple drum beat.

Singing his hit Purple Rain in the actual purple rain was epic.

I agree. 2 min 37 sec before the chorus. Many songs these days aren't longer than 2 37

Joni Mitchell

I agree. Dr Becky covered his PhD work a couple of years ago. Fascinating

She defends her lyrics yet says she won't let her daughter listen to her songs.

I'm hoping he can arrange Joni Mitchell

The big one for me was the 9 volt Sony transistor pocket radio. Many late nights tuning in far away stations. I would add 2 things to the list, Moog synthesizer and the drum/percussion. Wasn't the very 1st music played by knocking out a beat?

Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band but they are blockers so I understand why it wasn't included

I remember when MTV played music. 25 years ago

Tone for days. I couldn't have described it better if I tried.

#8 Rock Star... Man, these are all the same chord progressions. vi I V IV... Omg,... shakes his head no... Kinda sums up modern music perfectly.

Lucille. B. B. King.

Why am I crying? ðŸ˜

@MuzixMaker i was a bit young to remember that. I did enjoy the music from NYC and Boston. Motown and Top 40. Ages away from me here in a tiny eastern Canadian town. That's how the fallacy of racism took root in my impressionable mind.

@evertschut he met with her, had lunch. I don't believe he has had a full on interview with her yet.

@evertschut comparing her light version of Clouds early in her career with the performance in 2,000 at the end of an all-star celebration for her at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City was astounding. The new recording made me cry.

Enlightening

Yeah, it's strange. I also know nothing about singing or playing an instrument but I love this channel
1
@Zeta9966 yeah. I agree it's a good tune. My comment was about Rick's low key humour. 🙂

Joe Bonamassa?

I'm a rap snob. Is it really music? Anyone can talk. Use a thesaurus for rhymes. Press a few keys on a computer with autotunes. Where's the soul? The passion? The performance? Singing is hard as is playing a guitar. Piano. Rap has none of that. Sadly, modern pop all sounds cookie cutter. Same 4 chords over and over

Yes, I watched to the end. Very enjoyable

Watching and hearing Classical Gas come out of his fingers was awesome. A wonderful utůbe video. Thx for this great interview, Rick
1
@dfasht yeah. I look forward to it each year.

So would I but unfortunately it would get immediately blocked
