Ms. Warner: I was taught that when you apologize and then slip in the word "but" you're not really apologizing. YOU created the mess you made. You say, "I'm not a horrible person". You're certainly not a nice one and your attempt to use your job to intimidate someone tells me you do not know how to handle authority and that it was appropriate that you lost your job.

I was thinking the same thing. A cliff being worn away is a natural process. I figure the only way a prosecutor would be involved is there's a law or code that someone was required to do something to prevent erosion (maybe something such as putting cement blocks at the base of the cliff) and didn't do it. I don't know what the area looked like before the collapse but I get the impression the cemetery went close to or right to the edge of the cliff. Looks to me like some common sense should have been used and the bodies removed and relocated before this could happen.

Not a painting but the grandmother of one my co-workers paid five dollars for a rhinestone necklace at a yard sale. Turns out the rhinestones were real diamonds and the necklace was valued at $10,000.

@wisehr I second the motion. It would be more accurate to say "That one poor decision that followed many others but that was documented in public". Another phrase that doesn't work is "It's not me. That's not who I am". Then who else is it?

I'm wondering if someone who had once lived in the empty apartment was using a two-way mirror to spy on someone in the occupied apartment. I remember a news story about a landlord who did that and maybe even in more than one place in the apartment. I'd seal up that opening between the apartments for reasons of safety and security and also to just lower the heating/AC bill. From what was said in the video, it sound like the little girl whose remains were found in the coffin died of "under-nourishment". I wonder if she was too sick to take food and drink or was neglected to death.

Works for me. Both police officers in that incident need to be removed from the force. I don't know about the second one doing jail time; maybe he was still new on the force and paired up with a loser. Maybe if he's assigned to work with a better partner he'll turn out all right. I hope so. If not: so long.

@ReesieandLee Good point!

I come from a household of domestic violence. I'd say you're right on the money.

I'm glad you shared that. What a warning to be careful about mirrors in unfamiliar places. I remember a news story about some young women who had a cord going up into the heating/AC vent in the wall of the house or apartment they rented. Turned out the landlord had a camera in there and, to make things worse, I think it may have actually been legal.

I'd like to know what was going on with the thief. Was he out driving looking for something to steal? Had he seen the package earlier, came back later, saw it was still there then go grab it? This done in broad daylight on a residential street. Strange behavior on the part of the thief. Seriously I wonder if he's a kleptomaniac.

I was also thinking about the guy with her. He was with someone committing a crime and simply walked out with her. I wonder if any charges can be brought against him such as being an accomplice. From what we can see he didn't seem surprised or bothered. I wonder what HIS personal history is.

I wonder what else that "officer" has done in the past that we don't know about. I would be surprised if what is in the video is just his first act of inappropriate behavior.
2
I wonder how many good police officers we're losing due to leaving the force and getting other jobs because of the hatred generated by the bad officers.

A group of people in a house that has no furniture but that does have fentanyl. I wonder if this some kind of drug house and/or squatter situation.

No exaggeration to say that this is a tragedy. Over the Labor Day weekend in the town where I live a man, for reasons still unknown, shot and killed his son, daughter and wife and then himself. Landon Clifford at least did nothing to physically harm others. I didn't know him but that seems to be consistent with his character even while being affected by medications. His death has caused great suffering but even though I never knew Landon I'm sure he didn't realize that it would and that he would have acted differently if he had known.

Both "officers" there need to be fired in my opinion.

I think it's weird to withhold knowledge of the existence of one your children so you can use that child for a surprise/shock value.

To use some old-fashioned terminology: the guy has a few screws loose. And, as you said, his badge should be taken away. What else has he done and what else is he capable of doing?
